The Refrigerator Ice Maker Assembly is a replacement for your refrigerator's ice maker. The ice maker receives water from the water inlet valve and then holds the water in the ice mold until the water freezes solid. It then automatically ejects the ice and refills to continue the process until the ice storage is full. This part is designed to be used with select refrigerator brands; check to see if your model number is compatible. Note that you will need to re-use the auger arm, cover and bracket from your existing ice maker to properly install the new assembly. Replacing this part will require basic hand tools, some disassembly of the appliance and novice repair experience. You must unplug the appliance or shut off the house circuit breaker before installing this part. Also turn off the refrigerator's water supply before you begin. Helpful Tip: If your old water line has a kink or starts to leak, it should be replaced. A water filter can also be added inline with the copper supply line to improve the quality of your ice.
